Home EV Charging Solutions
Most electric vehicles spend the night parked in the home garage, making it the most practical spot for installing an EV charger.
For example, the Tesla Model 3 often comes with a Tesla Mobile Connector featuring a 10amp or 15amp plug. The 10amp plug fits into a standard home wall socket and provides around 12km of range per hour of charge. Plugging in your EV at 6 pm and leaving it charging until 7 am would add about 156km of range over 13 hours. To fully charge your Tesla Model 3, it could take 2–3 nights of charging or roughly 40 hours, depending on the battery size and model. The 15amp portable charger, on the other hand, delivers around 22km per hour of charge.
The type of charger you need will depend on whether your home has a single-phase or three-phase power supply:
- Single Phase (7kW EV Charger): Charges at approximately 45km per hour and takes about 11 hours for a full charge.
- Three Phase (22kW EV Charger): Charges at around 111km per hour and requires just 4.5 hours to fully charge.
